The main scientific trend is the development and improvement of the chemical synthesis and modification of DNA fragments; synthesis and investigation of the properties of new intercalating agents on the basis of the phenazine.

A new method of H-phosphonate oligonucleotide synthesis in solution which allows to obtain quickly enough rather short sequences (8-10-mer) in significant amounts (tens, and even hundreds milligram) is developed.
The advanced methodology of synthesis of thiophosphate analogues of the oligonucleotides known for the resistance to nucleases. Such modification carried out at closing stage of H-phosphonate synthesis by oxidation of hydroxyphosphorylic groups by free sulphur (in the other variant - dibenzoildisulphide).

With the purpose of changing radioactive marking the reagent for a fluorescent labelling of oligonucleotides immediately in process of solid phase synthesis is developed. Sensitivity of detection to the naked eye makes 1-5 pmol.

Works on building of antisignature oligodeoxyribonucleotides as generalpurpose antimicrobial agents which were carried out together with employees from institutes of microbiology and virology and molecular biology and genetics of the NAS of Ukraine are awarded with the State premium of Ukraine in branch of a science and technics. Patents of Ukraine and the Russian Federation are obtained.
