Research directions

The laboratory is engaged in the synthesis of external modifiers for thermoplastic resins: antimicrobial, antistatic, plasticizers with improved migration resistance, as well as synthesis of internal modifiers for polyamides, polyarylates and polycarbonates: branching agents, co-monomers and terminating agents.

Progress

Novel water-resistant polymeric biocides based on poly(hexamethylene)guanidine salts have been obtained;

Novel plasticizers for polyamide resins based on aromatic sulfonamides, as well as ionic liquids have been synthesized. The plasticizers obtained have excellent migration resistance from polymeric articles;

Novel branching agents, as well as co-monomers and terminating agents for polycarbonates based on aromatic mono- and disulfonanilides have been synthesized. Such internal modifiers impart improved rheological and tribological properties to polycarbonate resins.
