Scientific direction:
Zeolite catalysts and acid-basic zeolite catalysis
of complicated hydrocarbon transformations: synthesis of zeolite acid
catalysts; investigation of their adsorption and acid properties; testing
in the most significant carbonium ion reactions of hydrocarbon transformations;
studying the carbonium ion reaction proceeding consistent patterns as
well as pilot studying the efficiency of catalysts synthesized; investigating
the mechanisms of carbonium ion reactions of hydrocarbon transformations;
developing the catalyst technologies and corresponding catalytic processes.
Perspective researches
Zeolite catalyst of mineral basis and heterogeneous-catalytic
isobutane with butenes alkylation under conditions close to the critical
ones with the purpose of utilizing the catalytic cracking butane-butene
cut towards the alkylate - high octane gasoline component. Catalyst on
the basis of modified with transition metals mordenite-cliniptilolite
rock of Ukrainian deposits and heterogeneous-catalytic isomerization of
light-gasoline-cut linear paraffins towards isomerizate - high octane
gasoline component (together with L.V. Pisarghevsky's Institute of Physical
Chemistry of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences). Optimization of
acid spectra of catalysts for different carbonium ion transformations.
Investigating the deactivation of catalysts in the main carbonium ion
reactions with the simultaneous studying the character of coke formed.
Additional information
Laboratory scale technology of obtaining the micro
spherical zeolite-containing fluid cracking catalyst on the basis of Ukrainian
kaolin has been developed. Together with L.V. Pisarghevsky's Institute
of Physical Chemistry of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences the laboratory
scale technology of preparing the catalyst on the basis of Ukrainian mordenite-clinoptilolite
rocks for linear paraffin isomerization has been developed. Together with
the Ukrainian Petroleum Processing Industry Research Institute "MASMA"
zeolite catalyst as well as the technology of benzene (toluene) with C8-C24
alkylation for the purpose of obtaining the alkylbenzenes as the raw materials
for producing the surfactants and mineral oil additivies have been developed.
The thermodynamic treating of hysteresis phenomena in heterogeneous systems
Asolid + Bgas(vapor) = ABsolid has been given. The phenomenon of oscillatory
adsorption on zeolites has been observed. Its nature in the terms of irreversible
thermodynamics has been interpreted. The oscillatory proceeding of carbonium
ion reactions of hydrocarbon transformations has been revealed. It is
treated on the basis of oscillatory adsorption. The concept of decisive
role of primary carbocations, stabilized with negative charged positions
of zeolite structure, on the starting and finishing steps of carbonium
ion transformations whereas the secondary and tertiary carbocations are
of decisive importance in intramolecular rearrangement has been proposed.
Direct dehydrocyclization of linear hexane to benzene over nickel-containing
acid catalyst has been realized. The tricentres isomerization and aromatization
model has been proposed, according to which the catalyst active centre
includes Broensted and Lewis acid sites as well as the hydrogenating-dehydrogenating
site.
